How It Began
Sheffield, 2020.
What started as a passion project between two friends became Harlem House — a homegrown kitchen built on bold flavours, big portions, and doing things properly.
Inspired by American street food and the iconic Philly cheesesteak, we set out to bring something different to Sheffield. Not a copy—but our own. That’s how the Sheffield Cheesesteak was born: tender steak, rich flavour, and buttery brioche, done our way.
From day one, our approach has been simple — make everything in-house, never cut corners, and serve food we’re proud of. Every burger is hand-rolled, every cut of steak prepared fresh, and every chicken tender sliced in our own kitchen. Nothing pre-made. No shortcuts. Just proper food, made with care.
As we’ve grown, that mindset hasn’t changed. We’re still fully independent, still hands-on, and still building Harlem House brick by brick — recipe by recipe.
Our menu reflects that same attention to detail. From our sheffield cheesesteak to our chopped chick sandwiches, everything is built around flavour and consistency. Even our desserts are made from scratch — because we believe if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.
And when it comes to indulgence, we don’t hold back. Loaded meals, stacked just right. Milkshakes packed with your favourite treats — made fresh, generous, and designed to hit every time.
At Harlem House, it’s more than just food. It’s about creating something people come back for — whether that’s through our flavours, our portions, or the way we treat our customers.
Born in Sheffield. Inspired by Philly. Built with heart.

Growing with sheffield
As Harlem House grew, so did our connection to the city that built us.
Between our first kitchen and our next chapter, we stayed true to our roots — supporting the community that’s supported us. From sponsoring two local football teams to backing boxing talent, we’ve always believed in showing up for Sheffield both inside and outside the kitchen.
In late 2025, we opened the doors to our second location — right here in Sheffield, the birthplace of the Sheffield Cheesesteak. This wasn’t just about expanding; it was about creating a space for people to come together.
For the first time, we introduced a full dine-in experience, with plenty of seating so customers can sit, eat, and enjoy Harlem House the way it was meant to be shared. It’s a place built for the community — for families, friends, and everyone who’s been part of our journey.
This next step isn’t just growth — it’s a thank you to the city that’s backed us from day one.
Because at Harlem House, we’re more than just a food spot.
We’re your neighbourhood heroes.
